Article about Victim Support

Victim Support NI is a local charity supporting people affected by crime. Disability hate crime is a direct attack on a person's identity and an infringement of their human rights. Although it goes largely unreported, it is a feature of the lives of many people with disabilities.

Victim Support Northern Ireland provides independent information, practical support and advice about services available in your area to help you decide what is right for you. They have been helping people since 1981 and support 30,000 people across Northern Ireland every year.  Most people find talking about what happened helps them and you can be assured that the service is confidential.

If you have been injured in a violent crime you may be entitled to compensation. Victim Support can explain the process and support you in making the application if you decide to do this.  As a local charity there is no cost to you for advice and representation.

If you would like more information, please contact your local office to arrange to talk to someone on the phone or to meet at a time and place that suits you.
